South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative executive to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign sponsorships from new revenue sources that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of the mission of South Florida PBS.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience working in fundraising. Must have demonstrated success in production fundraising. Television broadcast/digital media knowledge is a plus. History of building strategic partnerships with community groups and content organizations. Must be able to set goals. Excellent presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently. Energy, enthusiasm and desire to work hard and achieve ambitious targets.

Human Resources Generalist

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly responsible developing a strategic HR plan to ensure adequate resources to meet the strategic goals and operation of SFPBS. Will work closely with executive management team to assess and forecast HR needs in each division based on the strategic goals of the organization. Develop a gap analysis, internal training programs, oversee compensation practices and ensure that job descriptions are complete and up-to-date. Responsible for administering, distributing and monitoring employee performance evaluations and that they are processed in a timely manner. Establishes and participates in an employee activities committee, arranging special functions for staff. Administers worker’s compensation insurance/policy following carrier and state guidelines. Prepares OSHA reports annually. This position will work at both the South Facility, located in North Miami, FL and the North Facility, located in Boynton Beach, FL.

High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with degree in related field desirable. Minimum of three to four years of experience in the areas of HR strategic planning, wage and salary administration, laws, and administrative matters. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills, be detail oriented, and the ability to meet deadlines and follow through. Being able to set goals, delegate responsibilities and motivate personnel is essential. Strong math aptitude. Specific experience working in high pressure situations with an emphasis on a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to deal well with people from all walks of life is a must.

Multi Media Communications & Outreach Specialist

Creates content for South Florida PBS blogs & social media platforms in support of events, programs & marketing strategies. Produces station video interstitials as needed/requested. Interacts with clients, contacts, committee boards & logistic providers throughout the coordination of the events.

Content (Interactive Media and Production)

Part-Time Freelance Multi Media Producer

South Florida PBS is seeking a part-time freelance Multi Media Producer with arts and cultural programming experience to oversee production of the monthly program Between the Covers at the WXEL studios in Boynton Beach.   The candidate will have a unique opportunity to help revamp the current program, incorporating field packages and graphics to update the format and creating new opportunities for interactivity.  This producer will shoot and edit packages, assist in booking studio interviews with well-known authors, line produce the studio program, direct talent, and oversee the final edit.  Experience shooting with DSLR cameras and editing with Final Cut X or Avid is required.

Freelance Multi Media Journalist

South Florida PBS is looking for an enterprising freelance Multi Media Journalist to produce, report, shoot and edit packages for the weekly public affairs program, Your South Florida including the signature Your Story feature.  The position also exposes the right candidate to shooting and field producing assignments across multiple SFLPBS brands including the Emmy Award winning programs Art Loft, Check Please! and Changing Seas.  The ability to operate independently in the field and deliver multiple weekly assignments is key.  Experience shooting with DSLR cameras and editing with Final Cut X or Premiere required.

Freelance Production Opportunities

Freelance Videographers/Editors needed for various South Florida PBS productions. Seeking candidates with expertise in storytelling through video. Successful candidates will have experience in field production, with strong competence in lighting and audio. Must be able to multitask, problem-solve, and manage deadlines. High proficiency in Final Cut X required. Knowledge of Avid and Adobe Premiere a plus. Must be reliable, organized, self-motivated, and willing to work in a collaborative team environment.

Development and Membership

Director, Major Gifts - South Campus

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly reporting to the Managing Director of Development, responsible for devising and managing effective strategies and business plans to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors, prospects and family foundations capable of contributing $10,000 or more annually to ensure a growing base of financial support for South Florida PBS. Manages a fluid portfolio of at least 125 - 150 qualified current and potential major donors, family foundations and planned giving prospects with primary focus on Miami Dade and Broward County residents. Serves as the chief public relations strategist for donors and prospects managed through the South Campus. This position is expected to guide her/his staff and key volunteers as partners in bringing highest level gifts to SFPBS. Works closely with development team to develop and implement strategies and programs for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major donors.

College graduate with emphasis on non-profit development management including major gifts and capital campaigns, business, public relations, and or equivalent comparable work experience. Preference for candidates with CFRE. Minimum of 5-7 five years of experience and proven success in non-profit management and major gifts fundraising as it relates to effective relationship building including prospect identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Specific experience with capital campaigns and planned giving is preferable. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to deal with people from various socioeconomic, cultural and professional backgrounds in an effective and persuasive manner. Ability to manage other professionals and to organize and follow through. Maintaining confidentiality as it relates to donors is required. Computer literate with experience in Raiser’s Edge/RENXT is preferable.

Accounting

Staff Accountant

South Florida PBS is looking for an individual to provide support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks, primarily related to accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash reporting for consolidated SFPBS operations. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices, preparing daily cash reports, and assisting the Controller in the monthly accounting closing process, including the preparation of bank reconciliations, review of departmental expenses, payroll records, etc. Other duties include assisting with the processing and recording of daily cash receipts, reconciliation of corporate credit card statements, and review and processing of employee expense reimbursements.

BS/BA in Accounting or relevant field preferred. Proven experience as a junior/staff accountant. Experience in working effectively with senior/executive management teams.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.

This position will be located in the South Facility in North Miami Beach.

Sr. Director Emerging Technologies

South Florida PBS is looking for an individual to be responsible for developing and leading the South Florida PBS Emerging Technologies team. Under the general supervision of the Sr. Vice President, Technology/Operations Develops will ensure that Augmented and Virtual Reality capabilities for South Florida PBS are innovative and solution oriented, meeting current and future needs. Will facilitate short and long-term planning to bring groundbreaking thinking and a visionary approach for SFPBS. Oversees and manages highly skilled personnel within the technology division. Other responsibilities include, establishing, overseeing and contributing to newly created department, Emerging Technologies, responsible for exploring uncharted and rapidly evolving technology. Designs, develops and supports innovative solutions across a variety of applications, platforms and environments, building tomorrow’s technologies and capabilities. Responsible for the operations and maintenance functions of all AR/VR personnel, software and equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient operation for digital distribution and production.

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, software development, engineering or related field. Combination of equivalent education and prior experience in field will be considered. Minimum of 5 years’ experience building native mobile applications on iOS and/or Android. Experience building XR experiences for ARKit, Vive, Daydream, Oculus, Gear VR, Hololens, Windows Mixed Reality, Playstation VR, and/or other major platforms with a portfolio of work that demonstrates skills. Understanding of how XR can be applied in a variety of circumstances. Strong understanding of UX design challenges and best practices with a passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences.

Experience working in a broadcast facility or in the broadcast field preferred.

Freelance Account Executive

WPBT2 seeks experienced Account Executive to sell national PR services such as corporate video productions, media relations support, radio services, online and all media distribution to support PR firms and Corporate Communications. Knowledge of news production, B-roll distribution, Satellite Media Tours, will be extremely helpful for this position to be successful. Position collaborates within the sales team, and provides sound counsel and recommendations to clients. You will offer PR services to help drive solutions for clients, and revenue for the company.

The candidate will be responsible for reaching out and making capabilities presentations to PR firms and companies who will use our services. You are a closer of business, and will be responsible for reaching sales targets and goals each month.

The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, resourceful, tenacious, and has a strong understanding of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics and the media landscape; 3-6 years in PR agency experience with clients preferred. We are looking for a candidate with:
• Sales experience with a good consultative selling style;
• Proven success in building relationships and driving sales results;
• Strong presentation skills, with experience working directly with clients and actively participating in client meetings;
• Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• High energy.

WPBT2 provides students with an opportunity to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the students' personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical work experience to balance the students' theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts. Areas of openings include, but are not limited to: Accounting, Engineering, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Interactive Media, Marketing, Production, and Programming.

To be considered for an internship students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours.
