This position will oversee the Membership, Marketing & Communications departments and will develop marketing plans, strategies and tactics to position South Florida PBS in the South Florida community as a vital and trusted resource worth preserving and supporting. Under the general supervision of the CEO and COO, will be responsible for leading annual giving fundraising strategies for On-air Fundraising, Interactive Fundraising, Direct Response (Mail, Online and Telemarketing), Corporate Communications & Promotions and Corporate Underwriting. Supervises goals for each campaign and makes adjustments and recommendations to insure success. Oversees the management of on-air fundraising data to create timely and accurate in-house progress reporting and National PBS reporting as required. Develops and implements branding strategies, helping to coordinate all external and internal messaging and ensures that all necessary materials are consistent and carry consistent branded messaging.

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, management, marketing, fundraising and public relations or equivalent comparable work experience. Minimum five years senior management experience, preferably in marketing; public television experience preferred. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse group of people with multiple and varied job duties. Strong organization, budgeting and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Energetic, outgoing personality with friendly, customer-service orientation and the ability to interact pleasantly with a wide variety of people. Working knowledge of direct mail, telefundraising, and corporate fundraising. Experience with strategic planning, personnel administration, budgeting and performance management systems a plus. Strong leadership, supervisory, management and interpersonal skills are essential. Excellent verbal and writing skills required. Ability to develop budget proposals and programs.

South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative executive to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign sponsorships from new revenue sources that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of the mission of South Florida PBS.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience working in fundraising. Must have demonstrated success in production fundraising. Television broadcast/digital media knowledge is a plus. History of building strategic partnerships with community groups and content organizations. Must be able to set goals. Excellent presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently. Energy, enthusiasm and desire to work hard and achieve ambitious targets.

Human Resources Generalist

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly responsible developing a strategic HR plan to ensure adequate resources to meet the strategic goals and operation of SFPBS. Will work closely with executive management team to assess and forecast HR needs in each division based on the strategic goals of the organization. Develop a gap analysis, internal training programs, oversee compensation practices and ensure that job descriptions are complete and up-to-date. Responsible for administering, distributing and monitoring employee performance evaluations and that they are processed in a timely manner. Establishes and participates in an employee activities committee, arranging special functions for staff. Administers worker’s compensation insurance/policy following carrier and state guidelines. Prepares OSHA reports annually. This position will work at both the South Facility, located in North Miami, FL and the North Facility, located in Boynton Beach, FL.

High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with degree in related field desirable. Minimum of three to four years of experience in the areas of HR strategic planning, wage and salary administration, laws, and administrative matters. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills, be detail oriented, and the ability to meet deadlines and follow through. Being able to set goals, delegate responsibilities and motivate personnel is essential. Strong math aptitude. Specific experience working in high pressure situations with an emphasis on a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to deal well with people from all walks of life is a must.

Part-Time Freelance Multi Media Producer

South Florida PBS is seeking a part-time freelance Multi Media Producer with arts and cultural programming experience to oversee production of the monthly program Between the Covers at the WXEL studios in Boynton Beach.   The candidate will have a unique opportunity to help revamp the current program, incorporating field packages and graphics to update the format and creating new opportunities for interactivity.  This producer will shoot and edit packages, assist in booking studio interviews with well-known authors, line produce the studio program, direct talent, and oversee the final edit.  Experience shooting with DSLR cameras and editing with Final Cut X or Avid is required.

Development and Membership

Director, Major Gifts - South Campus

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly reporting to the Managing Director of Development, responsible for devising and managing effective strategies and business plans to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors, prospects and family foundations capable of contributing $10,000 or more annually to ensure a growing base of financial support for South Florida PBS. Manages a fluid portfolio of at least 125 - 150 qualified current and potential major donors, family foundations and planned giving prospects with primary focus on Miami Dade and Broward County residents. Serves as the chief public relations strategist for donors and prospects managed through the South Campus. This position is expected to guide her/his staff and key volunteers as partners in bringing highest level gifts to SFPBS. Works closely with development team to develop and implement strategies and programs for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major donors.

College graduate with emphasis on non-profit development management including major gifts and capital campaigns, business, public relations, and or equivalent comparable work experience. Preference for candidates with CFRE. Minimum of 5-7 five years of experience and proven success in non-profit management and major gifts fundraising as it relates to effective relationship building including prospect identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Specific experience with capital campaigns and planned giving is preferable. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to deal with people from various socioeconomic, cultural and professional backgrounds in an effective and persuasive manner. Ability to manage other professionals and to organize and follow through. Maintaining confidentiality as it relates to donors is required. Computer literate with experience in Raiser’s Edge/RENXT is preferable.

Director, Donor Relations

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly reporting to the Director, Major Gifts - North, responsible for managing all aspects of donor relations and communications, special events and projects to engage, maintain and steward prospect/donor relationships. Manages multiple confidential and time sensitive matters simultaneously while contributing to accomplishing division goals.

This position is expected to provide leadership in planning and executing an effective donor relations program, instituting and managing annual fund giving ($500 - $2,500 gifts) while managing development events, special projects and communications, especially as these relate to the capital campaign. Will also maintain a portfolio of at least 50-100 donors/prospects and monitor progress to ensure highest quality and seamless donor communications, cultivation, solicitations and stewardship. Strives to move annual fund donors and event participants to major donors.

College degree in hospitality, communications or development or the equivalent based on quantifiable effective experience. Minimum 5-7 years of high-level special events management with a recognized “fundraising” non-profit organization. Proven ability to engage, communicate and build relationships with sophisticated and prominent area philanthropists. Advanced knowledge of budgeting. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with donors and community leaders. Proficient in Blackbaud, EXCEL and WORD. Exceptional administrative and communications skills, experience managing budgets. Reliable and attentive to detail with desire to learn and advance professional skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Flexible hours as needed. A sense of humor is important. This position will work out of the Boynton Beach location.

Director, Technology/Operations

South Florida PBS is searching for a Director of Technology and Operations ready to take us towards the next-generation of media technologies and infatuations as the organization shifts from traditional broadcasting to new platforms based on IP and cloud-based solutions.

Under the general supervision of the Sr. VP Technology/Operations will work collaboratively with peers within the technology division to ensure that all engineering and IT capabilities for South Florida PBS are innovative and solution oriented, meeting current and future needs. Oversees the operations and maintenance functions of all technical personnel, equipment and infrastructure to ensure a smooth and efficient operation for broadcast, production and NexGen endeavors. Operates the station in compliance with all FCC rules and regulations Facilitates short and long-term engineering planning including, but not limited to, establishing technical standards, methods and priorities. Develops long term goals and action plans to ensure smooth implementations of new technologies to meet company-wide goals. Troubleshoots and repairs complex equipment used in our daily operation including equipment associated with our broadcast operations, network infrastructure, transmission facilities, production control rooms, studios, graphics, editing and Comtel. Manages procurement of equipment. Develops and manages operational budgets and maintains proper documentation.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field. FCC General Class Radiotelephone license or SBE certification or equivalent work experience. Minimum of seven years of experience working in a broadcast facility or in the broadcast field. Familiarity with television operations and content creation. Strong IT based skills, networking and IP video distribution infrastructure, with knowledge of SMPTE 2110 and SMPTE 2022 beneficial. RF experience is a must. Knowledge of planning, technical design, construction, maintenance and operation of all aspects of broadcast facilities. Proven experience in leading a diverse team to meet organizational goals, as well as, effectively managing complex projects, budgets, and setting and accomplishing goals. Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and AutoCAD software a must.

Able to communicate with all personnel. Ability to follow through on objectives without direct supervision. Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills. Must have an enthusiasm for the mission of South Florida PBS.

Freelance Account Executive

WPBT2 seeks experienced Account Executive to sell national PR services such as corporate video productions, media relations support, radio services, online and all media distribution to support PR firms and Corporate Communications. Knowledge of news production, B-roll distribution, Satellite Media Tours, will be extremely helpful for this position to be successful. Position collaborates within the sales team, and provides sound counsel and recommendations to clients. You will offer PR services to help drive solutions for clients, and revenue for the company.

The candidate will be responsible for reaching out and making capabilities presentations to PR firms and companies who will use our services. You are a closer of business, and will be responsible for reaching sales targets and goals each month.

The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, resourceful, tenacious, and has a strong understanding of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics and the media landscape; 3-6 years in PR agency experience with clients preferred. We are looking for a candidate with:
• Sales experience with a good consultative selling style;
• Proven success in building relationships and driving sales results;
• Strong presentation skills, with experience working directly with clients and actively participating in client meetings;
