Miami, FL – A brand new season of Check, Please! South Florida is served up starting Monday, February 15, 2016 on WPBT South Florida PBS. For this, the show's 13th season, Chef Michelle Bernstein joins 30 local foodies on ten new episodes to discuss, debate, and celebrate their favorite dining gems.
The season kicks off with a look at small spots that have spread to multiple locations across the region -- from a trendy Broward burger bar, to modern and affordable Thai-Japanese food, to a street food concept with a distinctly "Miami" twist. Hot trends this year include farm-to-table dining, sous-vide cooking, and the ever-popular Gastropub. But, we'll also explore exciting ethnic flavors, from fragrant Persian dinners to spicy Indian breakfasts.
Check, Please! South Florida also freshens up its look, with a newly-designed studio set by Ikea Miami and Ikea Sunrise, as well as a new graphic look that will appear on-air and online. The popular social media series, Michy's Munchies, will return to Facebook in February, featuring Michelle's weekly recipes for a variety of dishes, from Red Curry Vegetables to Shrimp Tiradito; from Thai Donuts to a perfect Poached Egg. Stay up to date and get sneak peeks by following the show on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Check, Please! South Florida airs on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. Season 13 is made possible by Badia Spices, Whole Foods Market, George and Helen Weaver, and the Friends of Check, Please! South Florida.
